Retreats

Retreats

Our silent meditation retreats are unique. We have a nontraditional approach which is free of dogma and ritual. There are a variety of retreats offered:

  • Seven Day Retreats
  • Weekend Retreats lasting 3 or 4 days.
  • Saturday All Day Sittings

Each retreat has a daily schedule with sitting periods, a talk, and dialogue meetings. However, all activities are optional and you are free to conduct the retreat as you like.??The only requirements are to participate in silence and do an hour of work each day.??

We began holding retreats over 30 years ago based on the Zen tradition of week long??sesshin.??Our retreats have developed over the years into an innovative form which people love.

Please see the Calendar for retreat dates. For more information, please feel free to contact us.

Teachers

Retreats are conducted by people Toni Packer asked to carry on the Center’s work ??? Wayne Coger, Sandra Gonzalez, Richard Witteman, and Stephan Bielfeldt.

Meetings

Private meetings are available with the teachers during retreat. There are also daily??Dialogue Groups??which offer a deep level of interaction and inquiry with one another. Retreat participants may also meet privately with one another.

Effortless Awareness

With the elements of retreat offered as resources rather than requirements, people find that awareness and attention arise naturally in the silence of their everyday activities. Without the subtle pressure to fit into a particular way of practicing, awareness reveals itself without effort.
